POLICE TRAINEE/LATERAL
WHATE ARE THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR A POLICE OFFICER I/II LATERAL?
Experience: One (1) year of experience as a peace officer as specified in section 830.1. or 830.2. (a)-(d), of the California Penal Code, within the last three (3) years.
Education: Graduation from an accredited or approved US high school or equivalent AND completion of the Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Certified Basic Academy OR have met other educational criteria established by the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training, Commission Regulation 1002.
Age: Must be 21 years of age or older at time of appointment.
License: A valid California "Class C" Driver's License, and a reasonable driving record is required as a condition of employment and continued employment.
Citizenship: Must be a citizen of the United States OR permanent resident alien who is eligible for and has applied for citizenship.
Status is subject to approval of Chief of Police.
